Artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) serves as the initial treatment for uncomplicated malaria patients in Ghana. For treatment of uncomplicated acute malaria (n=115), children aged six months to fourteen years were admitted to two hospitals and a health center in Ghana's Greater Accra region, where they received artemether-lumefantrine (AL) medication dosed according to their body weight. Parasite presence in blood samples was verified microscopically before (day 0) and after (day 3) the therapeutic intervention. The ex vivo ring-stage survival assay, RSA, quantified ring survival percentages, complementing the 72-hour SYBR Green I assay in assessing the 50% inhibitory concentration (IC50).
